Information we collect

We collect your email address when you create an account. We don’t store your password ourselves; our authentication provider handles it securely.

We collect the details you give us to make a book: character names and descriptions, story ideas, and the moments and people you’d like the book to be about. We also keep the books and character art that are created for you.

We collect basic technical information, like the kind of device and browser you use, to keep the service working well.

How we use your information

We use your information to create and deliver your books, to run and protect your account, to send you the emails the service depends on, and to keep Our Little Book working and make it better. We don’t sell your personal information.

How your book is generated

The details you provide are sent to trusted AI providers, currently Anthropic for writing and Google for illustration, so your book can be written and drawn. They process that content to generate your book and do not use it to identify you.

Companies that help us run the service

We rely on a few trusted companies to operate Our Little Book: a hosting and platform provider, a database, storage, and authentication provider, an email delivery provider, and the AI providers above. They handle information only to provide their service to us, under their own data protections.

Email we send

We send account and security emails, such as sign-in and password emails, and occasional emails about your books and the service. The account and security emails are part of using Our Little Book.

Cookies

We use a small cookie to keep you signed in as you move around the site. It isn’t used for advertising.

Children’s privacy

The books are often made for and about children, but accounts and the service itself are for adults. Our Little Book is not directed to children, and we don’t knowingly collect information directly from them. An adult account holder provides the details that go into a book.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your account, books, and characters while your account is active, so your work is there when you return. You can edit or delete your books and characters at any time. From your account page you can download a full copy of your data, and you can permanently delete your account whenever you like, which removes your books, your characters, and their pictures for good.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we work with established providers who do the same. No service can promise perfect security, but we treat your family’s details with the care they deserve.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service grows. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page.

Getting in touch
