One of the Two Engines Behind Our Little Book
Quill
Writes and paints every page.
Quill is the writer and painter behind every Our Little Book. You describe the characters you love and a few moments worth keeping; Quill turns that into pages of warm, illustrated story.
What Quill Does
A Small Studio, in a Single Tool
Writes the story
Takes the characters you built and the moments you described and writes a short story for each, with an opening line, a middle that earns its end, and a closing that lingers.
Paints every page
Illustrates each page in soft watercolor, holding every character's face steady from the first page to the last. No drifting cast.
Works in minutes
A whole book, end to end, usually finishes in the time it takes to make a cup of tea. You can watch each page appear as it arrives.
Sits inside a real studio
Doesn't run alone. Ink, our second tool, handles every revision. If a page needs a different take, Ink listens and redraws just that one.
Why We Built It
The Off-the-Shelf Tools Couldn't Hold a Face
We wanted a book about our own family. Most personalized-book engines just swap a name into a template, and the characters drift from page to page. Faces change, ages slide, the family dog turns into a different dog by chapter three.
Nothing on the shelf could keep a small cast looking like themselves across thirty pages. So we built Quill ourselves, in evenings and the in-between hours, with that one job at the heart of it: paint the people you love as themselves, every page, every story.
The Style Today, and Beyond
Watercolor First. More Voices in the Wings.
Soft watercolor today
Every book Our Little Book makes is painted in a warm, hand-feeling watercolor. The style is the brand for now, and we hold it carefully.
Other styles in the wings
Quill isn't tied to one look. The same engine can be aimed at line art for older readers, gentle realism for memorial books, or whatever style a future product calls for. Same craft, different voice.
Quill Doesn't Work Alone
Meet Ink and Paper, the Rest of the Studio
Quill writes and paints first. Ink steps in when a customer wants a page a little different, studying the finished page and redrawing just that one without disturbing the rest of the book. And Paper is the editor where the whole book is read and refined.
For Businesses
Quill in Your Tech Stack
We're opening Quill and Ink up to other teams who want to build personalized, illustrated experiences of their own. Same engines, same craft, your product on top.
